Breathwork

Breathe better. Feel different.

Breathing is something we do every moment of every day, but most of us have never been taught how it works — or how we can use it to influence the way we move, feel and function.

Our Breathwork class is a practical, accessible introduction to breathing. We’ll explore the anatomy and mechanics of breath, use gentle movement to help the body breathe freely, and learn simple techniques you can take into everyday life.

No previous experience is needed. Everything is gentle, adaptable and suitable for all levels.

What to Expect

Understand your breath
We’ll start with the basics of breathing anatomy and biomechanics, giving you a clearer understanding of what actually happens in your body when you breathe.

Move to breathe
We’ll use gentle, accessible movement and supportive positions to help the joints, muscles and tissues involved in breathing move freely and comfortably.

Explore practical techniques
We’ll experiment with different breathing techniques, including positional breathing, Constructive Rest, tongue position, triangular breathing, CO₂ tolerance and Active Release.

Take it into everyday life
The aim isn’t to breathe perfectly while lying on a mat. We’ll explore how to integrate better breathing into walking, working, exercising and everyday life.

Explore how breath feels
We’ll also explore the mental and emotional experience of breathing — and how different breathing patterns can influence our sense of calm, focus, connection and ease.

Why Mo.Co.?

We believe understanding your body gives you more choice.

Our Breathwork classes combine practical breathing science with movement and exploration. We’ll explain what’s happening rather than asking you to simply follow a technique and trust that it works.

There’s also space to explore the more personal or spiritual side of breath, if that’s something that interests you. But there’s no particular belief system or approach you need to subscribe to. Come curious, and take what feels useful for you.

What We’ll Explore.

Our Reviews

Frequently
Asked
Questions

Do I need any previous Breathwork experience?

Not at all. This class is designed as an accessible introduction to breathing and is suitable for complete beginners.

Is Breathwork a meditation class?

Not exactly. While there may be moments of stillness and awareness, our approach is practical and educational. You’ll learn about breathing anatomy and mechanics, explore different techniques and understand how they can be applied in everyday life.

Will we be doing intense breathing exercises?

No. We focus on gentle, practical and adaptable techniques. You won’t be expected to push yourself into uncomfortable breathing patterns or experiences.

Can Breathwork help with stress?

Breathing and our experience of breathing can influence how we feel, including our sense of calm, focus and ease. We’ll explore some practical techniques you can use in everyday life, but the class isn’t intended to diagnose or treat stress or any medical condition.

Is there a spiritual element?

There can be, but it’s entirely optional. We acknowledge that breath has a long history across different practices and traditions, and there is space to explore that side of it. We don’t impose any particular belief system or spiritual approach.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to breathe and move freely. We recommend bringing a few warm layers, as your body temperature can drop while you’re relaxing.
